it turns out writing can actually be really good and not at all tedious when you're actually passionate about it. the problem is High School English Class kind of drills boring writing so deep into your soul you get convinced that you just don't like writing and you're inherently bad at it
re: my many black lefty feelings rn
I see grown ass adults who are emotional cowards seek continual easy hits of deluded superiority, and I watch in fascination as they return over and over again to racist/misogynist/transphobic talking points just as dogs return to their vomit.
Maybe feeling superior to bigots isn't that scandalous (I'm evaluating the content of their character after all), but it's an uncomfortable feeling still.
my many black lefty feelings rn
I've had a minute to process my feelings about how a very large percentage of my country are xenophobes, white supremacists, or nazi sympathizers and that they've embraced this ideology intentionally. Right-wingers haven't been "tricked" or "conned," they're obviously happy to enact their malice. But like many of you, I want a pluralistic, egalitarian society where everyone is safe and valued, where we collectively take care of each other.
the amount of work and self care that must go into being sweet and trusting and patient with people almost constantly?? unfathomable! and *you* get to reap the benefits. *you* get to know a real neat cute person who like, cries about animals and probably bakes us cookies an stuff
