releasing one of those "there's hair down there??" explaining/demystifying puberty for kids books but there's an entire section on what you can do if the puberty you're getting isnt the one you want

it's entirely unobtrusive from the outside, though, so you can sneak it past parents (or they might accidentally give it to their kids anyway)

Organised religion has corrupted one of the purest, most powerful and sustaining things in the human condition. It has imposed a middle management, not only in our politics and in our finances, but in our spirituality as well.

@alyaza
one thing i saw recently was "when you vote, you're not picking your character, you're picking your opponent"

i really don't like biden, etc, but as a white socialist, i will vote for him over trump if need be, and i will vote for president no matter what. whoever the dem party fields will not kill as many people as trump will, and that's worth voting for, even if i have to resort to lesser of two evils voting

The Matrix (1999) taught us a valuable lesson. If someone deadnames you, then you should hit them with a train

ain't it great that we all have incredibly similar memories of how the school system failed our particular neurotype in horrible, stressful, anxiety-inducing ways

Which is an interesting contextualization and good argument against letting perfect be the enemy of good re: candidates and moving the overton window etc.

Its wild that tech is such a dominate industry in the US when it is so extremely vulnerable to worker stoppage and sabotage.

What are the means of production here? codebases, servers, and computers to create code on? 2 of those 3 can be distributed almost instantly. Only the demand for constant uptime prevents the 3rd from being handled in a decentralized kind of way...

Why is tech an industry at all? Why does lyft exist when we could make an open one? why does facebool? twitter?

antifascism

I find it interesting (or maybe concerning) that Rogue One was the least popular new Star Wars film and seems to me like the most realistically grim portrayal of revolution and fascists who believe in the propaganda, rather than just being “oh I’m evil”. And depicting the difficulty of unity in such revolutionary groups due to disagreement about what kinds of violence are excused in the name of the fight (something that every antifascist revolutionary group in history has dealt with).

It’s a god-forsaken suppertime in the cybercafé, and you are an amazing tuna fish.

state violence re: ableism and minimum wage

@gendertreyf @Fidgetcetera @interneteh i would be remiss not to note that the state also has a role in *creating* (through trauma, especially childhood trauma, poor living conditions, and violent policing) a not-insignificant portion of the disabled population which corporations are then exploiting

injuring people (and entire populations) so that you can then pay them less is part of how American capitalism functions
