Weird how The Matrix is about everything but the MRA interpretation of The Matrix

Also congratulations to the Wachowskis for
1) Picking the last possible moment in time when payphones were everywhere
2) Getting Rage Against the Machine to play over the credits of their movie about raging against the machine

Also: I think the first thing we see when the movie starts is a terminal displaying a short command containing the word "trans". And we see the same text when the movie closes. Subtle!

This movie could have had a scene where Morpheus just explains every metaphor, and it practically does, but you'd still have people insisting it's about...the exact opposite.

[watches movie where one of the first scenes features a heroic white woman beating up evil white men in suits and cops]

Uhhhhh I don't understand, it's too complicated...is it about white men...being oppressed?

Neo is also cyber Jesus in that rightwingers have misinterpetted his e-teachings

The Matrix is such a subtle movie in its messaging that it contains a scene where a black man breaks the chains he has been bound in, after being cuffed and tortured by a white man in a suit.

The Matrix is such a subtle movie that the first end credit song is about the US government surveiling and murdering black activists

@avi ...after throwing off the white men's brainwashing...

@avi
I thought the scene in The Matrix where Morpheus is being interrogated was a pretty clear example of the worn out minority torture scene where the white savior rides in to the rescue : (

@avi
Other examples: Pulp Fiction, Shooter.

There's also a related trope in Hanna where a brown-skinned foreigner is found tortured to death so that we know just how evil the bad guys really are, but then the same bad guys put on the kid gloves before interrogating an adorable blonde family.
