A lot of the pagan books I read as a teenager were so sexist, racist, and antisemitic, that even my uneducated unwoke ass could see that they were bullshit. And I listened to Weezer.
Genius wants to claim the song is satirical, which might be believable if we haven't had 30 years since of Rivers Cuomo behaving like an ass AND writing other songs about being creepy towards women.
For similar reasons, Smiths lyrics are a whole lot less funny and clever in 2019
I could listen to "No One Else" and say, "This is fine. Just a perfectly normal song about hating your girlfriend and wanting a perfectly compliant passive replacement".
That's where I was at.
And even I could figure out the crappy pagan books I was reading were absolute bullshit.
