Part of it is I know a lot of people whose Boomer relatives live out in suburbs where you CANNOT leave the house without a car. That makes me very uncomfortable. To be stuck in a place and be unable to go for a walk or catch a bus home if I don't want to be there anymore, or even if you just want to buy a soda, you can't because they don't have a corner store, they don't have a bodega. They have a Walmart 15 miles away. You step outside, there's a highway with a deer crossing.
