@melissasage You can only sign up for an account if you have a pre-existing Google, Facebook, or Github account. You can't choose your own username -- it will be the same as whatever the pre-existing account name is. The avatar will be the pre-existing account's current avatar. It is impossible to update either one after you sign up
@melissasage When you try to create a new toot or reply, you automatically unload whatever was in your clipboard at the moment into the textbox

Q: How do I screw in a light bulb?
A1: Why do you want to do that? It would be so much quicker to use a torch. It you have a wind-up one you don't even have to buy batteries!
A2: I can't believe you don't know how to do that. You're such a noob.
A3: Have you considered just living in darkness? It's more possible than you think ;)
A4: I wrote a blog post about this four years ago. Check it out: link-that-does-not-work .com
A5: This is duplicate thread. Closing
Did you know?
The Netscape Fishcam was the second public #webcam on the web. It went online in 1994 and it let you watch the Netscape office aquarium via a secret shortcut in Netscape Navigator by holding CTRL+ALT+F. I was a fan!
The camera survived the closure of Netscape and it's still online today as The Amazing Fishcam.
Go on and take a look!
Carl Quacks was Carl Barks' negadimensional persona. He drew wealthy dog anthros who presided over a town full of talking ducks.
@melissasage The ~*~insanely~*~ great story of the Mac:
Jef Raskin starts work on it. Steve Jobs works on the Lisa, another Apple computer line. Steve names the Lisa after his daugher. Steve denies paternity of the non-computer Lisa. Steve gets kicked out of the computer Lisa project. Non-computer Lisa's mom fights Steve in court, because she is impoverished. Steve starts working on Jef's project, designing the Mac to be a less pricey version of the computer version of Lisa.
I don't care about spoilers. If I'm interested in something, I want to be spoiled i.e. learn things about it. I don't give a rat's ass about experiencing it for the first time without knowing anything going in. Fuck that. I don't particularly value being surprised. If anything, I am anti-surprise. I enjoy exploring and learning and avoiding surprises.
It's also incredibly annoying to try to talk about media while avoiding spoilers -- you literally have to repress yourself ffs.
@kura WebAssembly is not malware - it can be used to write very good malware, much better than JS.

racist flags
The thing is, people'll be like, "I don't condone vandalism," when they're talking about a confederate statue or this dipshit's house getting spraypaint on it.
They'll tell you graffiti is ugly and encourages crime and shit, while some ugly-ass house decorated with racist symbols is just hanging out there.
Trans, guy of center, well over 18.
I'm in tech and it feels weird.
