When scifi works construct species whose culture narrowly reflects their biology in simplistic ways, while humans are off doing everything they can to defy their bodily limits, including shooting themselves into space

One of the most important questions a dev can ask is, "How can this be abused?"

Lack of empathy for the potential audience + making loads of assumptions about their level of knowledge == documentation that is opaque and unreadable

The biggest problem with RTFD is that, when you go into a project with the attitude of, "Ugh stop asking me for help, any real programmer would know all this already", your docs wind up being...stupendously bad.
