...in fantasizing about living as a human, he displays human-level intelligence and emotions.

Also, many comic strips make it unclear how much of Snoopy's human-like behavior is in his mind. Sometimes the other characters are aware of his fantasies, or, especially, watch him go about his business on two legs.

Yet he still lives in a dog house in Charlie Brown's yard.

From Wikipedia: "A funny animal is an anthropomorphic animal character who lives like a human. They are typically bipedal, wear clothes, live in houses, drive and ride vehicles, and have jobs or may even be recognized citizens of countries, which distinguish them from other animal characters who may nonetheless display anthropomorphic characteristics such as speaking or showing facial expressions."

Snoopy is often portrayed doing these things, but they are all fantasies. However...

Is Snoopy a funny animal character?

Points for:
1. Funny
2. Animal
3. Often bipedal
4. Can communicate to the audience

Against:
1. Not that funny in later comic strips
2. Very aberrant lifestyle, somewhere between beast and man
3. Bipedalism may simply be a projection of his rich fantasy life
4. Can't talk, merely telepathic

Back in the day, if you wanted furry content, you were limited to literally every cartoon available on television, and a large proportion of the comic books and comic strips as well as the majority of products marketed toward children.

Carl Barks and Tom of Finland joining forces for the most prescient gay comic book ever

So I figured out why this backglass is so funny and it's because this pink guy is clearly just trying to give his cat a pill

"Honey are you sure that's really the cat? It's got scales and five heads"
"Yeah, because he's not been taking his PILLS"

Q: How do I screw in a light bulb?

A1: Why do you want to do that? It would be so much quicker to use a torch. It you have a wind-up one you don't even have to buy batteries!

A2: I can't believe you don't know how to do that. You're such a noob.

A3: Have you considered just living in darkness? It's more possible than you think ;)

A4: I wrote a blog post about this four years ago. Check it out: link-that-does-not-work .com

:dopefish: The Netscape Fishcam was the second public #webcam on the web. It went online in 1994 and it let you watch the Netscape office aquarium via a secret shortcut in Netscape Navigator by holding CTRL+ALT+F. I was a fan!

The camera survived the closure of Netscape and it's still online today as The Amazing Fishcam.
