Blood quantum is a thing used by the us government to deprive Native people from being part of their tribes.

Tribes know they lost children due to attacks and forced abductions and white schools. And then they finally got the right to count those kids as theirs again. But.... Only if they reach a certain blood quantum.

If they don't, even if they are completely culturally raised as native, they aren't allowed.

Unless they are signed up at birth by their parent that is actively in the tribe
