I got a telescammer impersonating Medicare. Putting on a creepy voice, I began imprecating "Your blood will become feeble, your bones will twist" when she interrupted me with a legitimately terrified squeak "Shut up!" and hung up on me. I claim victory. That curse must be powerful, the computer crashed twice while I was trying to type that.

Apparently my 4kWh LiFePO4 battery went to sleep over the winter. To wake it up, I'm supposed to supply 57.4 volts to the terminals for at least 15 seconds. The smart charger refuses to do so, as it doesn't recognize the battery in shutdown mode. Fortunately, I have a lab supply that can produce that oddly specific voltage.

I slipped and fell down the stairs, but my main reaction was that I was sad that all the noise spooked the cat (I'm fine, just a few bruises).

Lest people think all I do is rant, I'd like to give a shout out to Arm & Hammer for their packaging redesign for kitty litter: the new boxes are easier to open and pour, nice job!

I had someone repair my old computer, and they "helpfully" upgraded the OS, to one that won't run my expensive licensed software. This sucks.

All of the scammers (even the robots) begin their calls with "How are you doing?" Legitimate callers rarely do this.

@mavica_again I kind of like it, it has a minimalist appeal. And the idea goes back a while, this is the chord keyboard on my electronic organ. It seems to be arranged in a circle of fifths order instead of chromatic, but the idea looks similar.

We bought a cheap microwave to stand in while I repaired the nice one. After just a couple of weeks, the keypad is looking shabby. Maybe it's because there's protective plastic over it? Doesn't seem to have an obvious way to peel it off. Should I?
