Like isn't a crucial part of the plot of the Half-Blood Prince that Snape made up some words and when you say those words while waving your wand it does something
Who invents spells and how. Did Snape just like say random gibberish while waving his wand around until he got the effect he wanted. That sounds dangerous you could poke someone's eye out.
Why are spells all ambiguously Latin did the Romans somehow invent magic and tie it to their language or something
