@klances honestly mastodon is much more nicely set up for like
actually chatting with people and stuff than birdsite is
it's very calm just to be able to say what you feel without having to consider 140 or split your feelings up into bite-sized chunks.
because nobody has feelings that can be described in 140 characters
@klances it's basically just that on birdsite "random people talking with you" invokes some bad feelings for some people, but on mastodon it's definitely not necessarily a bad thing at all
there's no real concept of people being "elites" or anything, everyone is basically equal here
@boots true!! also it doesn't have a lot of preconceived problematic notions like i feel like i can truly ask ppl stuff without being attacked or called ignorant?? which makes talking to ppl so much easier
on twitter it's like ur constantly on edge and not able to relax
