its interesting how most of mastodon's memes are text-based while birdsite mostly uses image-based memes
@boots we have more room. simple as that.
@boots I think having more characters makes it easier to make text jokes.
@boots Images are mostly used just for offloading text in order to circumvent the character limit?
@galaxis yes but also there's a few where it's basically purely image
@boots Ah damn, seems deletion of that toot didn't federate in time :)
Didn't see all the houses and dragons before posting that...
Does Twitter even allow for that kind of text formatting?
@galaxis yeah!
it only has 140 characters though sooooo
@boots more characters plus mastodon's multi-photo ordering is still confusing as hell
@boots Unicode hopefully preserves better than an avi uploaded to youtube, converted to h.264, converted to a gif, uploaded to twitter and converted to h.264 again. ^^
@boots It's almost like the Emoji Movie is their fault
@boots Something becomes a meme quickly here (text-based probably helps here), if I leave for 5 minutes then I have to scrolls down the timeline significantly just to figure out what happened!
@boots it's because the average intelligence is higher here
@duck57 nah its probably just more characters im not smart
i think it's basically just that by default one line text posts on birdsite get skipped over by people and you basically have to post an image to get a post attention
