@cadey let's do toot federation over udp. everything is ephermal. no error checking.
@boots @cadey I second the notion of UDP but with a suitable error checking layer.
Advantages: Connectionless protocol, only need to wait on one socket, no bottlenecking while waiting on past data
Disadvantages: People think it sounds scary; can't really send fully-fledged XML docs on it (which is actually an advantage)
