@codl i still like the idea of the block chain just being a mace with a brick instead of a ball on the end and everyone suggesting the block chain just implying the mace would fix it

@codl Bitcoin News has added you to list xxbitcoinnewsxx69/bitcoinneers

@codl @typhlosion it is good i just havent seen an episode that hasnt left me deeply terrified

here's a fun fact
with ruby, if you set up a meta-interpreter, you can make a dialect of ruby where you can just push closures onto a stack using keywords so like
instead of doing str = String.new
you can just do

push String
new
store str
pop

@typhlosion there's no good episodes of black mirror but like i understand what you mean

hi im boots and welcome to "metaprogramming in languages that dont actually have metaprogramming features"

@typhlosion i'd use "throw undefined;" but getting throw to return things is the real issue

i wonder if i could get "throw" to push things onto a global variable stack instead of throwing an error

@typhlosion yeah, basically the browser casts SyntaxError to a string when it gets ~ called on it (bitwise-not) and since the function.prototype assignment ran first due to parenthesis, it runs the alert

the "Object." thing is just chrome weirdness though
iirc you can use it to make a dev tools beartrap which is fun

@typhlosion the best part is if you're in chrome try typing "Object." into the dev console

i just realized i went straight from "weird function calls and misdirection" to "eldritch underlying engine miscellanea" in one step with that last one oops
