spent a lot of time recently drafting up characters for D&D since the current campaign we're in deals a lot with going up against stuff we dont have a chance of interfering with. i'm on dude like, #6 right now (everyone else is on their third dude tops) and never really felt particularly involved in the plot. so naturally i went all-out and wrote up a backstory for a bunch of Very Married bards who accidentally composed and signed a blood oath to help out the party while shitfaced in the woods.

homest

@boots 2 things:
1. i thought this was a misspelling of "honest" and it would lead to a heartfelt but controversial opinion
2. he don't got arms so like, he's halfway there.

@typhlosion for at least the next hour im going to be pronouncing "bi" like "beam" and i want you to know that despite this, i forgive you.

@amphetamine @kara_dreamer h'okay, so.

I'm an academic and "academic" doesn't describe one type of person. Personally, I use "wizard" as an insult.

Wizards think of themselves as smarter than others, and try to make their science as esoteric and confusing as possible, taking lack of understanding as a sign that their work is too advanced for others. Respect, in the form of awe and quasi-worship, is everything to them.

Witches are unafraid to speak their mind, do their best to make their science useful and interpretable, if not doable, by all. They value respect, but in the form of people listening/using their earned title.

bit unsantiary

the closest ill ever feel to being a hacker is when the flushing lever fell off on a hotel toilet and i had to manually turn the rod thing in the cistern that the lever turned.

@garbados Here's a Haskell DSL for answering questions about the validity of various people's gender: toot.cat/media/St9gumYJHdWOaNd

@cassolotl@cybre.space the reason why theres so much noise from the keyboards in hacking montage scenes in american movies isnt because they're using mechanical keyboards, but because each key has a small gun that fires every time the key is pressed.

@Saphire @eevee @typhlosion spoken like a true python jockey. real developers spend hours on reddit asking for people to make games for them for exposure.

tired: "instance admins"

wired: "the federati"

@oceangrunge hey this is absolutely phenomenal BUT: can you submit more than one thing? i'm full of ideas i want to make but havent

@jk fun fact: all people who do computer/IT video tutorials live like this.

whenever i see memes like these that dont specify what the team is for, i like to assume "to marry each other all at once" anyway 6 picards. computerfairi.es/media/2rSJAc6

@typhlosion imp bottle public license: you have to fight this imp that we keep in a glass coke bottle to get the source code.
