Linux adventures.

Decided I can't really afford a new laptop so I'm playing with new Linux installs on my 6+ year old netbook (and also my partner's even older but better one because I'm not sure mine can actually handle it).

Tried Kubuntu last night. Works pretty well on partner's, not at all on mine. Today is Lubuntu on mine. If that's both fast/workable and also can handle the programs I want, maybe try it on the better one too? We'll see.

@chaognostica I've found xubuntu to be a nice balance between lightweight and functional in my experience!

@Mycroft Thanks! It's been awhile since I played with Linux. It's fun.

@Mycroft I don't understand that reference. XD

I have heard of Dwarf Fortress, but never played or even really looked into it.

@chaognostica It's a reference to this comic dwarffortresswiki.org/images/4
Roughly it's less about the destination, more about the journey, imho, when it comes to getting Linux set up perfectly to do what you want.
