Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that marks a significant step forward in our ongoing struggle for equality and justice.
As Opal Lee, "Grandmother of Juneteenth" says: “Freedom really means vigilance to me. I want everybody to be aware that none of us are free until we are all free.”
Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the progress made as well as the work that still lies ahead in dismantling systemic oppression and amplifying the voices and experiences of the Black community.
Together, we can and must work to pave the way toward a future where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background. And such a future is possible as long as we remain resolved to build a society firmly rooted in equality, justice, and shared humanity.
Happy Juneteenth, friends.
Hey people of Mastodon. I slept very little last night and my ADHD is making it very hard to focus on this super important day so, I know I probably could've sounded punchier and not ask for help but one thing this queer learned in a lifetime of abuse is that sometimes it's okay to ask for help. Today the 'Redundant' project was released, my baby independent project about violence against the transgender and non-binary community. Would you watch/listen? Would you reblog?
Reddit is restoring deleted posts and comments
Okay, so apparantly Reddit decided that the GDPR is nonexistent today; https://tane.codes/@tanepiper/110553809293213303
Holy fucking shit, even though the restore is bad enough on its own, the evidence that reddit *has not deleted this data even though GDPR would compel them so* is even more damning
fucking lawsuit incoming, especially with the badwill they've accumulated lately, all in one month
@effinbirds god I love this account
