New York Representative Richie Torres introduces the “Santos Act” which will require candidates for Federal office to disclose their employment, educational and military history under oath. False statements would be punishable by perjury.
Just like owning a car, owning a gun comes with its own requirements.
San Jose Gun Insurance Law to Take Effect at Start of New Year
RUSSIA IS LOSING THE AIR WAR IN #UKRAINE
The Russian air force lacks fully trained pilots and has made poor use of the few good pilots that it has, according to a report by the Royal United Services Institute, a British think tank
One of the strangest pieces of legislation ever enacted in California took effect Jan. 1, giving state residents and visitors the same power to threaten the gun industry that Texans now wield over abortion providers.
Some gun-rights advocates have called California’s law “performative legislation,” but Craig Peters, a partner at Altair Law in San Francisco, said SB 1327 “points out the absurdity” of Texas’ approach and the bad precedent it set.

WATCH: Elise #Stefanik knew #GeorgeSantos was a fraud yet she enthusiastically endorsed him for Congress.
The House #Republican leadership is complicit in the fraud Santos perpetrated against the public.
BOOST this post if you agree Elisa Stefanik can't remain silent and MUST disavow George Santos.
Great read on creating your own luck for the first day of a new year - thanks @swyx: https://www.swyx.io/create-luck/

Cyber attacks targeting hospitals surged worldwide in 2021 and 2022, in large part because of the pandemic, which left the healthcare system vulnerable to attacks. The number of deaths caused by these attacks is not yet known.

I'm going to start off the New Year with this tip: if you suffer from chronic muscle or joint pain, and have not yet tried a TENS unit, you're probably suffering needlessly. They don't "cure" you, but they can rewire your brain around the pain so effectively, they can feel like a cure. Most naysayers I talk to tried them once and lost interest. Try again. Experiment to find electrode placement that works for you. They are just too inexpensive ($35) not to try.

The implication is sad for liberals, where to go from here?
In just six days I make my London stage debut. Don’t ever let anyone say you can’t keep dreaming and having to pinch yourself, even at age 85.

Thanks, I've gotten drunk before but I never have noticed this pervasive "dysfunction" afterwards and I don't like it!
It's the New Year, I had purposefully reduced my alcohol intake the last couple of months and had noticed that when I drink more I don't feel that well for a while. Last night, overdid it, not sloshed but just more than I should and boy am I feeling it today. I feel like a buzzing blanket is over everything and making me slow. Is this how a hangover feels?
Trying to convince my husband's uncle that yes, I would adopt a #bat if the cats wouldn't snack on it. Just look at these adorable faces!
(this is the internet so to make it clear: don't treat wild animals as pets. There are pictures from veterinary and rescue services. Want something cute and bat-like? #Commission a plush from your local artist)
And let's not forget NYT had its own dubious polling:
..."claimed independent women shifted 32 points — from favoring Dems by 14 points in Sept to favoring GOP by 18 points in Oct. All based on a sample of just 95 independent women..."
