@geektox this idea's probably one of the things that's stopped my own art flow for a while now actually. do you know what kind of ethos you want your art to carry?

it's a language not without flaws (gender stuff comes to mind) but built into it are mechanisms that allow people to change it according to their needs and that's freaking cool

I'm also particularly interested in the experiences of creators on the platform using it for self-promotion, if that's something you're comfortable sharing!

Fedi meta questions, :boost_ok:

Hey folks,

I'm working on a document currently to use as an resource to onboard folks in my online+personal circles to the fediverse, with a specific focus on why Masto doesn't need to be a birdsite replacement to be worth using, and how the fedi deals with fash and the like on the platform.

I'd like to draw on and credit the works that I'm sure already exists out there like those listed: mastodonten.de/@gemlog/1031534 but would love to know if there are any others!

I think trying to figure someone out is useful and good in so far as to be able to accomodate them and their needs but that doesn't detract or negate the sentiment

i switch back & forth whether or not "art" is a useful term since it's often gatekept & held up to be this beautiful thing in a way that everyday life apparently isn't and if anything that's a way of thinking i reject with my whole heart

@mavica i have nothing but love for folx who're hurt when it's applied to them but for me it's really been such a useful, affirming & beautiful word to describe myself & my own experience

Based on an idea I had last night.

Description: An animated gif (very slow animation, no flicker) shwowing a (mocked up) difficulty selection screen from a video game.
It cycles through "Medium", "Hard", "Impossible", "Skip combat" and "Easy", while the description box to the right says "Play the game as it was meant to be played.", no matter which difficulty is selected.

Original file (not ugly-compressed): f.d9.lv/difficulty.gif

@mavica ooohoohoo i love this! i hope to get the 3 x 3 favicon soon
