@squ1rrel @colon_three wasnt half bad for general computing in 2006, i remember he thought he was living in the future or some shit since he could load the ol' paradise to grab isos off of directly to his hdd
he still had to unpack the isos through an external pc but he never told me that part

@colon_three @squ1rrel jokes on all of us i think theres toxic ps2 iso packing tools for linux now so theoretically you can install a ps2 game to HDD using just the system with no working laser

@luna @squ1rrel ok i should actually look into this

i have a limited edition fat silver ps2 that struggles with blue discs and i need to drag it out again

Follow

@colon_three @squ1rrel dont actually use ps2 linux to install a game to hdd its hell
just use a crossover/LAN to get the job done, or just hook the hdd into your pc, all the tools are win and im not sure if there linux compiles but wine should be able to handle it and if that doesnt work just dualboot or vm or pull out an old win build like me

@squ1rrel @colon_three SATA works via a convertor board but i recommend just grabbing a fresh ide and cross checking with several compatibility threads across the internet

@colon_three @squ1rrel aw fuck the premiere LAN ps2 hdd communication program, HDLDUMP, is open-source. have a field day with it
