Non-binary and transgender identities can be dated as far back as Mesopotamia, when Enheduanna (writing centuries before Gilgamesh) wrote:

"To destroy, to create, to tear out, to establish are yours, Inanna. / To turn a man into a woman and a woman into a man are yours, Inanna."

Of significant note are the Pilipili; cultic performers that, though born women, ritually are given spears and become men. They can be contrasted with the Gala, who were born men and ritually become women.

This trend continued in ancient greece with the Galli; worshippers of the goddess Cybele who castrated themselves and became women. Achilles was said to have lived among them as a youth and married as a woman; though later plays (some as late as the 1500s) have him instead born as a woman because if he was born as a man he would "overthrow the gods".

There was even a transgender Roman Empress, Elagabalus. She was heavily criticized for dressing as a woman, and hanging out with what we would currently today describe as her gay friends. (love that for her). And her experiences match up almost one to one to current descriptions of what we call gender dysphoria. Here's some quotes:

"She would ask philosophers and even men of the greatest dignity whether they, in their youth, had ever experienced what she was experiencing."

When Aurelius addressed her with the usual salutation, "My Lord Emperor, hail!" she bent her neck so as to assume a ravishing feminine pose, and turning her eyes upon him with a melting gaze, answered without any hesitation: "Call me not Lord, for I am a lady."

"She asked the physicians to contrive a woman's vagina in her body by means of an incision, promising them large sums for doing so."

Gayness, on the other hand, can be associated with diverse creatures such as sheep, penguins, sperm whales and wasps. Wasps split off from the rest of us ~270 million years ago; so either this is convergent evolution or gayness is at least 270 million years old.

The oldest art depicting gay sex is about 10,000 years old, dating to mesolithic cave rock art in the Grotta dell'Addaura in Sicily.

Which is all to say, in this Pride season, let us remember that Pride is fundamentally not a celebration or a fair or a festival. Pride is a protest, a riot, a refusal to die in the face of constant discrimination and the absolute hatred of a society that does not want you, but cannot get rid of you.

Fuck Trump. Fuck Nazis. Be gay, do crime.

Ich muss dringend etwas für meine Fitness tun. Früher war ich im Schwimmverein. Von allen Sportarten erscheint mir Schwimmen noch als das kleinste Übel.

Sport begleitet mich schon lange nicht mehr. Aber ich muss wohl wirklich etwas ändern.

Da ich hochgradig sehbehindert bin, bin ich ab der Umkleide ohne Brille prädestiniert, mich zu verlaufen oder versehentlich in der falschen Dusche zu landen.

Darum suche ich ein Wesen aus Hamburg, das Lust hat, 1x pro Woche mit mir schwimmen zu gehen. Der Eintritt geht auf mich. Ich brauche eigentlich nur etwas hilfe bei der Orientierung.
