@pettancow it's really really hard to make a PS1 character model look good but they've done it. Usually its better to just do sprites on that system.

@wolfcoder It's funny, I was actually talking with some folks on Discord about how lowpoly became an artform of its own around the turn of the millennium after a discussion about Spyro Reignited comparison shots. Threads of Fate was the example I held up. :D

@pettancow its a much harder medium than pixel art. I have a half-finished triangle-by-triangle model editor program I might finish one day, its sitting in a git repo somewhere.

@wolfcoder Indeed, I wish I had the chops for it because I want to make a spiritual successor to Threads of Fate one day.

@pettancow the repo is actually for an engine that does (more but not perfectly) authentic integer math triangle rendering and the model editor is just a tool inside it, I'll let you know if I ever finish that thing.

@wolfcoder Ooh, fascinating! I'd love to play around with it even in an incomplete form

@pettancow it's not even in much of a play around-able state yet but if you want I can give you access to the GitLab repository.

@wolfcoder Even just looking at the source could prove inspirational. I've been hurting for motivation for ages.
