What The Decline In Asbestos Interest Could Mean For Housing

@mcc For me it’s more like “What The Decline in Asbestos Could Mean For Gaming”

It’s a bad thing that was never really related to games, despite some folks’ insistence.

@esdin @mcc it's almost impressive how NFTs transcended "a solution looking for a problem" and went straight to "a problem looking for other problems to make even worse"

not to mention like...everyone promoting them is either an idiot mark or an opportunistic ghoul (with room for overlap), but basically NO ONE trying to shill them seems to actually UNDERSTAND them

@esdin @mcc like my personal favorite fantasy making the rounds was shit to the tune of "the NFT magic will let you buy an exclusive one-of-a-kind collectible Mario and use him in Halo!"

which like...shows COMPLETE ignorance of how games are made, how they would actually need to be DESIGNED for such interactions to make sense, or alternately, how they would all need to be functionally interchangeable in order for it to work

Follow

@esdin @mcc like NFT bros legitimately seem to think that "ownership" confers some kind of magic power over the thing owned

as if they could walk up to a junkyard with a pink slip for a lambo in hand, accept the car as a crushed cube of metal, and then drive off in it

or take a leisurely drive from the busy streets of Los Angeles all the way to the beaches of Oahu straight across the Pacific Ocean

"the pink slip says I own it; that means I can do anything I want with it!"
