say there is an onerous task which must be performed in order to keep the lights running
under capitalism there is no impetus to make the task less onerous; it is assumed that 1. human labor is functionally infinite and 2. this is because people can always be coerced with the threat of starvation and death into performing difficult labor
the money that could go into making the task easier instead goes straight into CEOs' pockets
@Radical_EgoCom@kolektiva.social @gpk @nohillside now imagine the scenario where the CEOs are no longer in charge of how the task is performed; instead, the people who actually perform the task are the ones who decide the procedures, design the tools, build the equipment
the task becomes more efficient when profit is no longer the motive, but instead public good
people say "capitalism fosters innovation and competition" but it does neither; the pursuit of profit engenders only ossification and monopoly
