Playing with shaders in Godot 4, this one was a bit tricky!

But now the facial features are visible even though they're inside the character's head, even showing through the hair 🎉

It's really important imo to recognize that means testing is generally a tool to kill social programs, not support them. This is counterintuitive to even a lot of believers in those programs, which is exactly what makes it such a useful weapon against those programs.

We have the means to claw back "unnecessary" benefits, if we want to: taxes.

But if you want everyone to have the right to live, you have to give everyone the tools to do so.

@Austin_Dern *blinks* Fusco Brothers is still running? i feel like i haven't seen one of those strips in literally decades @_@;

@foone ...i don't know what it means that i see 茶 (lit. "tea") there as one of the wire(?) color labels and think "green" before realizing it might just as easily mean "brown"

@barcode @ifixcoinops a funny thing is, even the original '80s computer versions were slightly different from one another

the Amiga version had some rooms that were pitch dark and a flashlight with a limited battery; the DOS version omitted this mechanic entirely

@barcode @ifixcoinops there was a Total Eclipse on PS1 that was completely different from the Total Eclipse on Amiga (and other '80s computer platforms)

someone actually did a fan remake of the '80s Total Eclipse and it was really cool

@XyzzySqrl i'm reminded of my experience trying to play The Journeyman Project: Pegasus Prime via Mac emulation back in the day

the keybinds made no fucking sense (for a game that was originally intended as a console port of a point-and-click adventure!) and i can only assume what happened was they decided the best way to map a PS controller to a keyboard was to treat the controller itself as a map of what the keyboard arrangement should look like

petition to create a Cool S in unicode, and furthermore to reassign the Cyrillic Capital Letter Er to a new code point

@loke @mcc that's basically how the EGA palette works, eight different colors in two different shades

@mcc reminded again of my experiences with 16-bit color on Windows 95 back in the mists of prehistory, how when switching modes sometimes it would (apparently?) attempt to display 5-5-5 RGB as 5-6-5 RGB resulting in purplish grays, or that's what i assume was going on

idk if that was a Windows 95 problem or just a problem with my graphics card/driver in retrospect, though

google sucks. sometimes you want to ask a completely reasonable question like "how does metroworks codewarrior for embedded powerpc encode RTTI data?" and it's just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i'm vibrating at an extremely high frequency rn waiting for somebody to see an art i did
