I got my first AI generated voicemail last night. It used my name and everything, pretending to be my dad. (He did not accept my transition back in the day, so it was immediately obvious)

If you thought the robocall waves were bad, just wait.

@ultraloveheaven @Haste Judging by OP’s post, it used her correct pronouns when her father did not.

@ultraloveheaven @Haste Naw don’t worry about it.

It probably did sound off, anyways. Having listened to AI generated speech of Biden and Obama, both of whom have distinct speech patterns and plenty of material to “learn” from, there’s always that “this is..too…clean? Average?” sense to them.

@ultraloveheaven @WhiteCatTamer In addition to the pronoun thing, it didn’t sound exactly like him. It was close, but not consistent.

@Haste @ultraloveheaven It’s sorta like the audio version of a picture of someone with one half of their face mirrored. It may draw from the original but it’s TOO clean.

@Haste @WhiteCatTamer this was what i was wondering!!! freaky how they can do that to someone as normal as i assume your dad is? rather than like trump or michael jackson ai?
