maria is a normal human who joined in when aspen dragged her back to the house to patch her up for the fourth time after finding her half dead. she has the personality of a semi-feral cat, but would die and kill for any of her new family in a heartbeat.

hazel is technically immortal (can be killed, won't die naturally). her combat specialty is hand to hand. jessie is definitely supernatural of some sort, but neither she nor hazel will talk about the specifics. all of her magic is attack oriented, and she's also very good with guns.

the rest of the group being: hazel (aforementioned ex demon, gruff but gentle butch lesbian, 6'7), jessie (the actual business owner of the whole deal, femme trans lesbian with the personality of sugar and arsenic, extremely nearsighted), maria (cooler than you goth egirl, has about 25 knives on her person at any given moment, 4'8), and ethan (backstory deemed too tragic for me to actually write about)

in the main story they're like 26 and probably the most well adjusted of the whole group lmao

anyway they ran off at age like 15 and got basically adopted by an ex-demon and her wife, who run a supernatural friendly bed and breakfast/coffeeshop/bookstore to fund their proper demonslaying side job, which aspen promptly jumped in on, because their other main magic use is healing and boy is that vital in that line of work

aspen (they/them) has a measure of raw magic in them that seemingly came out of nowhere when it's usually an inherited bloodline trait. it kind of fucked up their family- their dad was convinced their mom was cheating, there were massive fights that ultimately ended in a divorce, their sister put the blame on them because she was 11 and didn't have anywhere else to put it. their magic primarily manifests as true empathy, which. just made the whole thing super rough on them.

aspen's from a universe about urban fantasy demon hunters that i will probably never actually post anything serious about because it's depressing. but i like the cast so i threw a modified version of them all into tvb/votive lol
