ovid meanwhile pitches fits in fandom until he's lauded as a Big Name Fan, and probably has had some Cassandra Clare moments. meanwhile virgil is the equivalent of like... if SCP was started and 3/4 written by just one person, and that one person was pleasantly surprised by everyone going apeshit for it and making fangames etc. but also was all 'nice meeting you i need to get back to writing now'
incidentally on the topic of 'classic writers in social media', catullus would 1000000% be a fuckboi on youtube, possibly twitch. "wow that's harsh," you might be saying, "he's one of the latin poetry greats, it didn't seem too bad" - 1. his most well known piece of poetry is literally just a sappho poem but made cishet 2. Go Google Catullus 16. I'll Wait.
the pointer finger of my left hand has been twitching all day... it's mildly aggravating. do i need to hose myself down with more magnesium spray, or is this just the #tumblr withdrawal shakes
@alimcgowen although we all exist in these corporate-driven spaces, it doesn't make the connections we made and the things we did any less important, you know? it's hard to deal with a corporation deciding a place that was so important to you as 'no longer profitable'. it's ok to mourn that. and to mourn the fact that life just isn't as simple as it was so many years ago. it's hard. i wish i had a better fix other than to say remember to be kind to yourself. it's ok to be upset about this. <3
@alimcgowen (hello stranger let me just wander in here) - honestly i feel you deeply. one of the things that makes digital spaces really hard is that they're digital, you know? it's ephemeral. it was so real to us and so important to us, but now it can all disappear so quickly. it's not like a building where you can save a brick or even an old sketchbook, but instead it's just gone. that's hard. and it's okay to let yourself be upset about that.
@kara@witchcraft.cafe (oh hey, something i actually kinda know about indirectly) - my father's had some good success observing it lately! iirc he actually suggests looking at it before 'peak time', when there's not a fuller moon to muck things up. (idk where that is in current timeline tho.) definitely worth pulling out some binoculars and seeing if there's a hole in the clouds even before you head out on vacation!
30 y/o - token cishet - tumblr refugee. spoonie/15 chronic conditions in a trenchcoat/actual cyborg. just hangin' in there
