@eightbitsamurai@elekk.xyz but what happens if you want to play destiny AND enjoy "i believe in a thing called love" :( youtube.com/watch?v=tKjZuykKY1

/THIS IS VERY STUPID BUT I STAND BY IT

and finally, the one i don't need to cw is also the one i ended up drawing the most competently, likely because this is a completely original character made up to fill a minor role for a few chapters at most

Sakuraso is the tough-as-nails lady warrior rounding up the sensible bit of the yiga clan by yelling "fucking HELL you guys i think we lost the fucking war TWICE OVER NOW can we PLEASE go surrender instead of doing DUMB STUNTS"

Show thread

cw more emphatically for gore (scarring, eye trauma scribbled in)

fionnan (yes i got the double n in the wrong place) is the ganon-this-incarnation-pulled-a-parthuurnax good-guy who has had a real shit time being continuously tortured to act as appropriate bait anchoring calamity ganon together for the last thousand-odd years

he could use a cup of tea and one of those trauma blankets, honestly. he'll settle for a hug or just quiet acceptance as he cry-shakes like an abused chihuahua for a bit

Show thread

did i have an art tag? who knows. was my tumblr one so good enough here

right this is all in my maybe-will-write-eventually botw fic idea

link and zelda are both impossible to draw

link is sporting some "yeah, calamity ganon tried to melt my face off with malice-acid, and made my hairstyle asymmetrical, but i'm too fucking stubborn to cut my hair" looks

zelda has a Sensible Braid.

cw for gore-ish? badly drawn burns on face idk

is it time for me to obnoxiously reblog my own art (again)?

yes... yes it is

mobile game recommendation request

@frostotron@tenforward.social i have heard Million Onion Hotel is quite the delight! in paid games, there's also several adaptations of PC or nintendo DS games that might be worth looking at - there's even Shadowrun Returns if you're ok with squinting at teeny tiny text.

@jay@snouts.online yeah, i'd say specifically look for things that label themselves as for beginners - youtube tends to cater mostly to the audience of "know the basics but want to see the fancy crazy stuff".

go have a look around and see what strikes your fancy tbh :) you can get into a Lot, you can get into it a Little, whichever you choose. it's only nail polish after all, it comes off ^0^ (tho i do still say totes go for some cuticle oil, shit's nice)

@jay@snouts.online yeah, there are definitely ways to do it quickly and easily, but youtube is mainly going to show you the advanced stuff - and there things like basecoat (why do a fancy nail painting if it's gonna be gone by tomorrow?) and a top coat (why do a fancy nail thing only to have it chip tomorrow?) and such are important. it's kind of like looking at lipstick by looking up lipstick tutorials. youtube will show you the tricky stuff, but a little tinted chapstick is also great and easy to get too :)

@jay@snouts.online cuticle oil is the shit though. it's fucking baller as hell. i will totally advocate for keeping that around, it makes your nails SO much healthier and nicer, LOL. but honestly a lot of hand creams do at least a little of the same thing, so you can still get that benefit without buying an only-for-nails product.

@jay@snouts.online tbh the many many steps is if you're doing certain crazy shit like nail art or if you want it to be extremely long wearing

there are some all-in-one nail polishes i've seen where it's color with base and topcoat, so you're just one-and-done

the liquid latex is a nice shortcut for if you're doing stuff that gets polish everywhere (like nail art), and really, the base coat is there if you need it to be (to serve a specific purpose, usually to make it long-wearing), ditto top coat

@salameleon@snouts.online huh. honestly varies wildly with what kind of piece was commissioned.

what would worry me more is if they have no updates for you. if they don't let you know your place in the queue, or "sorry, still working on it, was really busy this week" at least, i'd get worried.

a month with no update or sign of life (like posting commissions of those ahead of the cue from you) and i'd start to get testy. at two, consider it a charitable donation and move on

anyway, now that i've gone ahead and blocked that nonsense,

anyone able to give me the odds there for "gab idiot who thinks he is James Bond at infiltrating the leftists, is actually Agent Maxwell Smart" versus "person who will spark at least three celebrations in different departments on campus when it is seen they have failed out and the professors couldn't be more relieved about it, not to mention the poor TAs and their thousand-yard stares"

@miro@todon.nl if you truly have no idea about how you're supposed to have acquired such skills like "is this a reputable source", you're not ready for college.

if you truly have no idea about how one figures out source quality on the internet - where anyone can write anything - and have decided to accept all as true, you're not ready for the internet.

this is getting unsporting. it is unfair to go at an unarmed opponent.

if what you claim is true, you have my utmost pity.

goodnight.

@miro@todon.nl if you don't know basic research skills, you are not ready for college.

that is something you should be taught in middle school. by high school you should know how to do a basic research paper, including how to cite things, and how to find appropriate sources.

i am sorry your educators have failed you this hard. i am sorry you have also failed *yourself* this hard by being disinterested in it, as well.

call your college and pray they'll refund part of your tuition.

@miro@todon.nl you can either be interested in being part of social change...

OR you can decide you don't want to go out of your way, because you don't want to expend any effort.

choose one.

here. i will do you a great kindness and emotional labor you should quite frankly be paying me for by passing along a video. this explains some basic media literacy. and it is even about video games in the end, so maybe you can decide to ~go out of your way~ for it. youtube.com/watch?v=fYHrEp917M

@miro@todon.nl if this is your A-game - if you consider your media literacy for finding sources, for researching what new terms mean, and your philosophy about doing so at the top of its game, and you cannot do anything about any of them -

do yourself a kindness and call your college and tell them you're dropping out.

but this is getting, quite frankly, unsporting. you have declared yourself ready for the olympic swimming competition and drowned in a puddle despite all your practice in the shower.

@miro@todon.nl you've boldly argued that you can be outpaced in your goal by a chatty toddler.

i would say check yourself before you wreck yourself, but you've already passed checkpoints A through Z and merrily tootled your way clear off a cliff into the ravine hundreds of feet below. and i don't think holding down the accelerator is gonna fix it, champ.

you can do something RIGHT NOW about the cause by not actively contributing to it because "but i would have to go out of my way and i'm too lazy."

@miro@todon.nl if you just want to prove your point as quick as possible -

while not knowing what your point *even is*, because you didn't do basic "i should know what i'm talking about here maybe", because it's just too much work to look at two or even (holy shit!) three whole links pulled up on google -

while not being concerned with "facts" -

that is not philosophy.

i'd say it's bullshitting, but quite frankly, you're just embarrassingly bad at this from top to bottom, so...
