@popstar@myasstodon.xyz oh lord.

well.

let's, uh. let's... prayer circle that it's just a really dedicated troll, everyone

@popstar@myasstodon.xyz yeah some of those terms have a distinct whiff of 4chan. reads a bit too much like someone was reading old fanwank writeups of Astral Snapes On A Plane or what have you and decided to use it to try and have fun trolling people with

@InspectorCaracal i did actually google and they don't have Heart of Darkness or The Great Gatsby

and like.... how great would tiny puppy Gatsby be though

@InspectorCaracal honestly

yes

valid

same concept we just move it into the "literature you get in high school and college" area

....probably not the risque ones though. let's not adapt Lady Chatterly's Lover for that

@popstar@myasstodon.xyz wow, the things that drift by on the fedi timeline and make my eyebrows attempt to fuse with my hairline (not at you, mind, but at the, um, well, yes)

are people sure this isn't a troll, pulling the wildest shit they can think of for pure straw man? (this may be pure wishful thinking on my part, but a gal can dream)

you know what we really need a reboot of, though?

Wishbone

yes i know we'll all have to admit that the original dog actor has died and it's awful, but like... imagine Wishbone For Adults.

i don't mean dark and gritty.

i just mean that it's a dog in a costume giving you a summary of, like, The Great Gatsby and Heart of Darkness and such

alternatively, everyone's trying to emphatically ignore the, uh, reboot of ReBoot that happened and i still haven't watched out of sheer exhaustion in my very soul about it

Show thread

but i'm just sayin', i feel that there's a rich vein of jokes to be mined by someone more appropriate to pick up that pickaxe about how Hexadecimal is downright a patron saint in some corners of Mastodon, given that Mastodon is 80% transbians who work in tech

that's got to be as far as my cis ass goes but. it's definitely there my friends

pictured below, with eye contact kinda: Hexadecimal. i feel like one picture will do most of the illuminating if you're totally lost on this concept

Show thread

i have to admit part of me wonders why i don't see more hornt for Hexadecimal from ReBoot around here, but maybe the people who i think would be on that shit like white on rice are also blocking out memories of early CGI animation, and: that's fair.

@BestGirlGrace y'know, as i meander by, i feel like this setup - slightly modified - should be a basis for a Grace x Hexadecimal From ReBoot commission

there's at least a 40% chance you're going to say "way ahead of you, here's the three commissions i've gotten of them making out already"

just in case y'all thought i was kidding with the "irresponsible amount of stickers"

two friends have made the mistake of saying i can send them stickers

i am sending each of them a quite frankly irresponsible amount of stickers

i regret nothing

i now have my geekchic lipsticks i ordered, AND the magnetic eyeliner and eyelash set from a friend's recommendation

so tomorrow (or maybe even late tonight depending on spoons) i should totally have some fun putting on makeup

mastodon question

@schokopflaster (of course, you saying "you know, i think i see the logic with this quiet walled garden approach, and somewhere more quiet would be nice to try too" is also perfectly valid! some people hop from alt to alt, some people move accounts, some people do a mixture of both of alts for specific purposes and so on and so forth.) (the additional politics is a little confusing at first but it's pleasantly freeform culturally, if that makes sense!)

mastodon question

@schokopflaster @minx fortunately, one of the boons of mastodon as opposed to other social media sites is that alts are free and easy and downright encouraged :) so if your friend says "you know, i'm not sure that this strict moderation style is really suiting me these days", there's no shame or social stigma in making another account somewhere else ^^

mastodon question

@schokopflaster one of the reasons why otherwise compatible instances might end up getting blocked is "it turns out the admins on one end are just not interested in taking action against an obvious toxic bad actor that is affecting all users, so the best thing to do is preserve users from danger by blocking that instance". i'm going to guess it might be an issue of that going on. i'm not up to date on everything but i seem to remember cybre.space talked about in that manner.

mastodon question

@schokopflaster you can indeed block on the server-to-server level, and the granular control of this is something that admins often do. i'd check in with the cybre.space admins - usually there is a big list on cybre.space/about/more (or about->more on whatever instance), there's probably a similar list on kitty.town as well.

@InspectorCaracal yeah, i feel like it's definitely a thing somebody's worked out how to do! i could probably find a tutorial on youtube if i went looking - transforming costumes are fucking cool as hell

plus with how cheap and easily available basic electronics are, i'm sure you could do something like "press a button and the skirt also begins playing the great fairy theme" LOL
