I also need to figure out how to run a "modern" virus scan against a machine that's like a 300mhz 64mb windows box.

maybe stick the drive in a VM, boot a modern linux with clamav?

@foone I half wonder if a Windows Defender 32-Bit bootable CD would run on hardware that old. Maybe not...
