i feel like i have to laugh about this somewhere: i decided to check clearsky to see if i was on any blocklists on bsky, found i was on an "anti-gamer bro" list. looked up the user who created said list and checked out which lists they're being blocked by, and found they're being blocked by their own list (on top of a bunch of other ones intended to block far-right-wingers and other assholes).

i invoke Nelson Muntz:
πŸ‘‡β€‹HAπŸ˜†β€‹HAπŸ‘‡

Β· Β· 2 Β· 0 Β· 3

the Blocklist is one function of social media I'll never use, there's just too much potential for abuse and misfires. i feel like one must be a deeply unhappy person to run one like that

hell, even tools like Shinigami Eyes are subject to that now. it used to be generally pretty obvious why a given person got Red-Named there, but now you could sift through pages and pages of replies and not find anything, leading to suspicion that someone got red-flagged without cause and nobody thought to question it.

if i have a need for that kind of information now, i will probably defer to the lore-keepers of the community and not rely on an unchecked List or Plugin.
