My grandma died today.
My grandparents raised me - before I moved in with them m, my childhood was...we'll say (charitably) "suboptimal" ... but once they took me in everything changed.
I don't have the words to express how much she meant to me, although I got a chance to try last week when I went to see her as her health was declining - she was wonderful, caring, open-minded, thoughtful, and always willing to stand up for the people she loved.
I wouldn't be the person I am today without her, and I already miss her terribly.
re: Grief/death
@AbuhRae same. We had some good moments in that last week, amidst it all. She left knowing how much we all cared for her and nothing can take that away
