@oct2pus I never really got into Homestuck but it always seemed like they originally had a decent idea for a "rpg elements IRL" webcomic and then they just abandoned that almost entirely for a completely different direction. Why? Eh, they probably got bored with the original ideas, which they dropped very shortly into the webcomic and then never returned to.

@Anarkat Homestuck was more based upon spore, the sims and other god games (the game is called sburb to give an impression of the game Spore, although I don't believe that worked very well) as well as wanting to explore creation myths (and adventure games, given the format as a fictional adventure game).

it was never actually supposed to go as planned but he did start exploring other things in greater detail as time went on, but Andrew Hussie was whole-assing his desire to create an overtly complicated and contrived creation myth from day 1.

@oct2pus I suppose how one would feel about that would depend mostly on how they think of how Homestuck turned out in the end.
