A day or two after coming out as trans I found myself in need of a long walk to help clear my mind of all of the uncertainties and... well... gunk that was swimming around in my head.
At the time I lived near a local interurban trail, and while following it passed by over sixty (yes, I started counting) bunnies in the space of about half a mile.
Clearly, it was a sign.

@porsupah I kinda wish I'd thought to take a photo or two, but at the same time I was soaking in the tranquility of the moment so much that I'd hate to have disrupted it with something like that, lol.
I'm sorry to hear about your old boss, but I'm glad that the buns were nearby to lend you their strength

@porsupah It was really difficult, to be honest... lol. I've always been quite skilled at uh, denial, so it was a bit of a slow process for me to really come to terms with
I tried really hard to fit in and be 'normal' when I was a young kid vaguely aware that something wasn't quite right about my presentation, so unlearning that took a bit of doing. It was definitely a hell of a mood at that point, though! XD
And that is awesome! I get super intimidated with stuff like that tbh
coming out, trans
@Chel A slow process, indeed.. I suppose it's a natural thing, to /try/ to accept things as they are, and push the feelings back. I knew basically from first puberty that I'd make a far better girl, but *changing* that felt so impossible. Cue years of TGTF stories & artwork..
Was there any one thing that finally cracked your shell? For me, it was two friends independently coming out to me - somehow, /that/ set me wondering if that was a path *I* could follow too.
coming out, trans, abuse
@porsupah Yes, actually. My partner (also trans) & I have a friend that ended up in an abusive situation with her parents, we ended up taking her in for around half a year. It might be a bit weird, but the stress of the whole situation (her dad was -Crazy-) kinda disrupted my normally impeccable "derp derp I'm cis" reality distortion field 😅
I had (and still do, obviously) a lot of trans friends, but I never really allowed myself to ponder my own potential transness 🤦

@Chel It's such an incomparable mood, coming out, ne? First to yourself, then to others. I originally made an appointment to discuss a nail infection, and at the end, they asked if there was anything else - and somehow, I managed to say I was trans, and the endo I was seeing wanted /this/ list of blood tests.
Left the clinic amazed with myself - I'd actually *done* that? =:D
