Hello #pcode people!
I just wanted to say that if git feels like too much trouble right now and is keeping you from actually starting to learn python and code... maybe just focus on python and figure git out later :) You can still use the Issues in the firststeps project to talk about what you are doing, ask questions etc. And the Wiki. And look at code.
It would be sad if our choice of version control / communication platform would keep you from doing the thing!
@Jules I think the biggest thing for me is that... the more I read about Git, the more I feel that Git is actually terrible software, and the more I wonder how people somehow gravitated to it as being the saviour of open source...
@not_on_pizza @Jules To me, Git isn't *terrible*, but it definitely takes getting used to.
As for how people gravitated to it, I'd argue that that was almost exclusively because of GitHub; the features that GH provides (chiefly pull requests) are nicer to work with than the Git equivalent.
#pcode ppl: I second everything that @Jules said! I don't fully understand Git at the moment, but it's also not that important right now. And we'll work things out later together. :)
