I've been thinking a lot about my job, it's not very meaningful to me, worse than that, I think it makes the world a worse place, but I've looked for other jobs and I'm unsure of those too, are there software dev jobs that make the world a better place?

I’m not in software development (don’t really count the handful of things I script for internal use), but this is something I’ve been thinking about a bit too. You can try to find a company who’s developing for something that better matches your values, but basically any company will pick their clients based on who’ll pay them rather than on any actual morality. :/
