@Efi @WeeMadHamish@octodon.social okay now I'm awake I can answer this. So. Jalopy is sort of a lite car sim game. You get a wreck of an old 1960s/70s car that's basically not made any more, put in a replacement door, (that of course doesn't match colours and sticks sometimes :) ), whack in the engine components and wheels, and set off from Berlin to eventually get to Turkey, at around 1989ish? Just after the berlin wall fell.

@Efi @WeeMadHamish@octodon.social This can be done by finding abandoned cars like yours along the route and swapping out the wheels or engine components when they get too damaged, or finding boxes of goods like wine, tobacco, meat, textiles, medication and coffee, and selling them for profit, or buying them low and selling them at a higher price in another country. At the border you sometimes get checked for contraband (changes each city).

@Efi @WeeMadHamish@octodon.social Like I said, it does have a story, and to its credit it's a surprisingly human one. It's not the main focus obviously but it's rather well done for what's there, and it was pretty good. All in all though it makes for a great chillout game for me. Oh yeah you can also buy replacement engine parts and wheels and upgrades for your car along the route.
