@SilviaFox@sleeping.town like not even subjectively; completely objectively factually wrong. the SNES controller was OK at best. it was bloody uncomfortable over any period longer than a few hours. Megadrive pad wasn't much better either, especially the dinky little six button ones. "Ergonomic" my fluffy arse end.
@theoutrider @SilviaFox@sleeping.town realtalk I quite liked the Wii controllers. They were... surprisingly comfy? a bit weird and the trailing wire was kinda annoying at times but pretty good, mostly responsive (the Wii+ addon fixed a l ot of issues but did make it a bit heavier and also having to purchase an addon per controller? Jeez, Ninty >:\ ) , pretty intuitive...
I'm willing to bet the Switch joycons feel even better, though I worry they're very small.
@theoutrider @SilviaFox@sleeping.town ahhh, that's cool at least! But yeah it did suck for early adopters. the GC backwards compat was nice tho. Honestly Ninty are always a bit of a mixed bag for me.
Like, they have these cool systems, but there's always... something kinda wrong with them, somehow. And it's one of those not immediately obvious things like some kind of Monkey's Paw thing.
@Nine @SilviaFox they are a bit, yeah, but I can manage okay
also, later Wii remotes had the motion+ integrated into the main body with barely any added weight, and third-party ones with it popped up near immediately after the motion+ was introduced
