@ChristieMalry Even in the current game, the "Jail" rules explicitly enforce that going to jail is not only temporary, but barely an inconvenience for wealthy landowners. to get out, all you have to do is pay a measly $50 (presumably £50 in the UK version too, it's been a while since I played and looked at the UK rules), or purchase a get out of jail free card off another player, OR just have one in your cards. @ChristieMalry I mean even in its watered down "lol capitalism is WONDERFUL play this game about it all!" form that the Parker Bros turned it into, it's still a bitterly damning indictment of capitalism and landlords if only one looks at the rules and what they imply.
@ChristieMalry Yyeeeep! Guessing that was in the original format of The Landlord's Game but removed by Parker Bros when it was changed to be more of "a fun game for everyone" (IE more friendly to capitalism)?
