im still upset that hot fuzz didn't end up being the perfect critique of capitalism and law inforcement that it could have been

med fuelled rambling about hot fuzz

don't get me wrong hot fuzz is one of my most favourite films of all time but god you really cannot escape the blatant slap-in-the-face cop propaganda because its literally a film about cops

imagine experiencing that whole situation and deciding after the entire corrupt police system has been spread out in front of you that you want to keep being a cop. wild

@slimepunk This is 100% true and fair criticism, and I love Hot Fuzz but yes , this. So much. Like it's just the "Oh it's okay we're the GOOD COPS", yeah great nice, except you're just being the Good Cops THERE, not... like... the entire force. which is blatantly still corrupt as shit. Like they want you back because they fucked up and want you to pick up all their shit. Burn them the fuck down, don't just wash your hands, Nick., yeesh.

@Nine EXACTLY like. they kicked him out of London for being Too Good at his job. if that's not a giant red flag with "CORRUPTION" written on it in huge letters then idk what is. and then even after everything else which was basically just More police corruption in a different way he was like "yep this job is still fine"

med fuelled rambling about hot fuzz

@slimepunk it's frustrating honestly. Th efilm is still great fun, I could watch it again and again, but I'm always very conscious of that underlying message that's just... gone entirely unthought of.

anyway cops are bullshit.

@Nine I'd drink to that

(if i wasn't on heavy duty painkillers right now)
