Shlock's Theorem: given enough time to run indefinitely, any given webcomic will eventually become a metacosmic war game with infinite stakes

@irisjaycomics oh fuck this has happened to so many long running webcomics I can't even

like

holy shit to name a few I've previously read through years ago, Sluggy Freelance (though I stopped reading it when it started getting this weird), Elgoonishshive or whatever that was, fuckin' Dominic Deegan (I forgot I read through all that until this was mentioned), Megatokyo (that did not take long at ALL to get weird. goddamn.)

how long before XKCD goes and does this? Girl Genius?

@irisjaycomics (only slightly facetious with the XKCD one tbqh it's gone on long enough and I am genuinely concerned that it might actually start having...

a plotline D: )

being nostalgic about early Dominic Deegan

@Nine @irisjaycomics I actually still have the Dominic Deegan T-shirt I bought when it was a comic about a small-town fortune teller experiencing small-town adventures

that was a fun comic and kind of sweet

I gave up sometime after the legendary hero of destiny got his job teaching legendary levels of seer-skills at the super-magic college to oh god I just don't care

(although the guy with the facial scar he hid behind his asymmetric haircut had a pretty boss character design)
