The reason why "low poly" throwback indie doesn't resonate with me like snes/new alike indie is the modeling style isn't ever accurate to what was done in the early days. Look at Mario 64, tomb raider, goldeneye now look up any game on itch.io claiming to be a "PS1 tribute" totally different.

@LANthus the only game I've seen that seems to be getting it right is one that doesn't even seem to be being made now and it's a fanmade "Megaman Legends" style game where the engine specifically, DELIBERATELY emulates the wonky texturing from the PS1 games... and it's apparently made in GameMaker.

@Nine Also MML is the perfect low poly game to try to emulate. Probably the best game artistically I can think of from its era.
