just read the words "limited-run email newsletter" and now i'm very confused

i was like "surely this is just a weird turn of phrase from the person reporting on it" but now this is literally how they describe it https://www.nytimes.com/newsletters/privacy-project

what does this mean

is it limited to a certain number of subscribers
