also no fuckin' multiplayer jeez. wtf.
@avi apparently the astro boy game on GBA is legit really good?? I haven't played it but I know the ending theme is straight up the same as the ending theme for gunstar heroes. Like, almost exactly the same. I guess maybe Treasure were running out of time at the end for music and were just like "uhhhhhhh, screw it not like most people who play this ever heard of gunstar heroes, even if they did it'll be a fun little surprise, throw it in"
@Nine It really, really is though. I never liked my GBA as much as my Game Boy Color, but that one really stood out.
@avi I never had a GBC sadly, (though I always wanted one, even just from an aesthetic standpoint they're beautiful little handhelds), but the GBA SP in red I had, despite being HandCramp City, population me, was lovely and I loved so many games on it. the Megaman Zero games, Ham Ham Heartbreak, Gunstar Super Heroes (despite its weirdness), GUARDIAN Heroes Advance as well (seriously great fun, though I wish I coulda played the original), Sonic Advance wasn't horrid either!
@avi I utterly lamented the lack of fun puzzlers tho. :< Couldn't play Pocket Fighter 2 Turbo because capcom continue to be all "lol fuck colourblindness hahahaha eat shit scrub" with that series, unless you wanna play the mobile game they recently brought out which is loaded with exploitative microtransactions ugh. I THINK Puyo Puyo Fever was on GBA as well and I adored that but... that had limited appeal ;;
@avi also yeah the first I heard about it was seeing the cartridge in like... Either fuckin Game or some kind of smaller independent gaming store here in Sheffield and just being like "WHAT... A SEQUEL?!?!"
I played the living hell outta it and got every ending hhhhh.
@Nine I remember that game.
I got it on release from Game Stop, and the employee was looking at me, like wtf, why are you so excited about a GBA game?
It was definitely disappointing, though Astro Boy by Treasure that same year(?) was a treat.
