truth of this is that Treasure never gave Red a defined gender. Sure, they have feminine attributes, but that could be put down to the armour giving them hips (like it does for Blue as well), and sure you could point to the eyelashes but eehh. Red uses more "masculine" leaning language in japanese, and nobody refers to Red as a girl in the game apparently, but in the west they were like "uhh... Red's a girl i guess."
...Gunstar Super Heroes was kinda a trip tbqh with its story mind.
@Nine I remember that game.
I got it on release from Game Stop, and the employee was looking at me, like wtf, why are you so excited about a GBA game?
It was definitely disappointing, though Astro Boy by Treasure that same year(?) was a treat.
@avi apparently the astro boy game on GBA is legit really good?? I haven't played it but I know the ending theme is straight up the same as the ending theme for gunstar heroes. Like, almost exactly the same. I guess maybe Treasure were running out of time at the end for music and were just like "uhhhhhhh, screw it not like most people who play this ever heard of gunstar heroes, even if they did it'll be a fun little surprise, throw it in"
@Nine It really, really is though. I never liked my GBA as much as my Game Boy Color, but that one really stood out.
@avi I utterly lamented the lack of fun puzzlers tho. :< Couldn't play Pocket Fighter 2 Turbo because capcom continue to be all "lol fuck colourblindness hahahaha eat shit scrub" with that series, unless you wanna play the mobile game they recently brought out which is loaded with exploitative microtransactions ugh. I THINK Puyo Puyo Fever was on GBA as well and I adored that but... that had limited appeal ;;
