@Nine I think they try to because they do love each other, but knuckles would get bored of fishing too quickly and big is a little too intimidated to try any of the things knuckles does, so they just do their own things nearby and talk a little bit while they do it.
Like, they love each other for who they are, but unfortunately they're very different.
But if big needs help finding froggy he knows knuckles will help
