one time I founda genuine piece of green beach glass on a normal beach that I picked up and it was tiny and washed real smooth around the edges and it was like a small clear, deep green pebble and the only reason I could tell it was actually glass was because one part wasn't TOTALLY worn down and you could see where it had broken off a bottle and it was kinda curved.
aaaand then I lost it in a move from our first house :< and now it turns out beach glass is like super friggin rare?
@Nine When I was a little lad I found a piece of wood on a beach with what looked like a glass nail in it.
Never did figure that one out.
@ifixcoinops oh wait, was it this sort of looking nail? :o https://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/products/concentrate-glass-nail-18-8mm
@Nine Yes! Except it had that classic beach-glass look, translucent and pale green.
Wow I didn't know those were still made. How the heck do you get them in!
@ifixcoinops Oh, heck. XD I didn't realise it was for that. I also thought it said Concrete not Concentrate. c_c;
@ifixcoinops so I've literally been searching for why glass nails were used for nailing concrete at one point and when were they last used and...
gosh i feel silly. but yeah it's probably because someone was like "lol this is a nail im gonna hammer it into some wood lol" and their friend was like "fuckin rofl do it" and they did and then promptly forgot about it entirely.
