@cozykaffe@snouts.online Yeah, I know the feeling. I was part of a chatsite that's been running since the mid 90s, a freeform roleplaying one. I've,... literally watched the ENTIRE community change. P. much everyone from the "old guard" is gone (to be honest, good riddance to a lot of them), and even though I wasn't there when it first started I'm still considered part of that "old guard".
At first I felt "oh god everyone's gone" but... really, all that happened was new people came. And I made new friends.
@cozykaffe@snouts.online and... I'm really bad at that because I'm too shy a lot of the time, even online... but even if the entire community changes, so what? As long as it still feels safe, as long as it still feels good, then it's worth sticking around, so those who are new get to make friends with people who are there, and you can make new friends too.
@cozykaffe@snouts.online i forgot the point I was making for a moment there but yeah, don't fret so much, even if people move away, there'll be more to take their place. Mastodon won't die. It might change form a little from time to time, but as long as it still feels safe, and as long as to you it's better than the alternative, you've nothing to fear.
